Half Days
To be able to assign tasks over half day periods, as not everything takes an entire day to do

As Bennie Zoah says, the basic features of a Gantt software are missing since the beginning, with no visible change over time. I spent half a day to integrate it in Trello only to discover it could not used for anything real-world. I wonder if their customers do really exist, because I cannot see any way this tool can be used to manage a team of real people in real companies.

Is TeamGantt vaporware? Is there any development activity or has it been abandoned? I see some very basic, fundamental feature requests here from many years ago with zero movement or even commentary.
Glad I found this page before making the time investment into TeamGantt. Looks good on the facade. Troubling when you dig deeper. Pity.

I also want to be able to assign tasks for half a day or less / by the hour but happy with how Team Gantt manages this. If you use estimated hours the dates are only used to indicate what period of time the task will be done and the estimate gives an accurate indicator of the time taken to complete the task. You then get the ability to see that someone has a task lasting 2 hours say on on day so there is room for more but can also compare estimated vs actual post task.
Apologies if I'm not understanding what is missing, just my take on it. -

This is a deal breaker for me too. Was hoping to use TeamGantt over OmniPlanner. Will look at using it again if this comes in.

This is a huge problem for us! The resource utilization chart is not very helpful without this.

Quite sad to find this comments page... I found that team gantt is a good product until I found that tasks have to be 1 day long minimum... "Deal breaker" as others have said... Hope you guys @Teamgantt improve this.

This is a deal-breaker for me. So many of our studio's tasks are 1/2 day!

-1 : for me its too granular. Stick to what your good at team Gantt; good simple project planning.

Hi! When do you plan to deploy this feature?

Is this still not resolved, it is a deal breaker for me too...

I'm evaluating this product for my group, and if it weren't for the lack of granularity, I would absolutely recommend it.

+1 .25 of a day minimum. Like others say, not every task takes 1 day and often we need to me quite granular with assigning particular tasks in BC.

Unbelievable that you can't schedule anything under a day. Unfortunately this makes teamgantt absolutely useless for us. Frustrating because otherwise it looks like a great product. Looks like I'll just have to give Microsoft another $1000.

Hi David,
Thanks for the feedback on this and the use case. Unfortunately, we don't have any news on this feature at the moment. We have a few other features currently in the works, but this is on our radar. We will continue to evaluate this as a potential add in.

Any news on this?
There ways to work around this, but I have to manipulate dependencies just to make tasks stack which make no logical sense. As a result it's confusing for our resources when they check their schedule.
An example of this is a project team meeting that is part of a process. We have meetings where the designers will need to present their designs tot he developers to ensure they are in line with what can and can't be done in our budgets. From these meetings there are inevitably design changes. At the moment I have to stack them both as day long tasks, sharing the same predecessor (eg concept design).

I have just started the TeamGantt trial. Within 5 minutes (setting up my very first task!) I realized this limitation.
It is unlikely that this solution will be feasible for us if granularity of at least 0.5 days (preferably 0.25 days) is not available. I would appreciate any indication available of a road-map for this functionality.

This would be an absolutely critical improvement in my eyes. I would love to use this project for a 24 hour operation and its important to be able to schedule nightshift/dayshift.
Thanks

Having a least .25 days or being able to control the day by percentages would be great. I was using microsoft project for years and this feature for my application is great. I love team gantt the only thing i wish it had was a way to break down the day. If you have a resource on four task that take 2 hours each the resource is shown as being over allocated because you have to put him in at a day for each task. Or if you want to link those task it pushes your schedule out fours days. And I agree with the comment about the beauty of team gantt being simple that is why I started using it instead of microsoft project, And also because of the fact that it is cloud based. I feel that this is the best solution for me that I have found to this point but this one thing really makes this program 100 percent for me. Thanks Mike
