RESTful API
Wouldn't it be great to add the RESTful API to TeamGantt?
- Each method along with its own URL.
- CRUD (Create, Read, Update and Delete) functions.
- Input/Output: JSON, XML, etc.
The TeamGantt API is now in beta!
Documentation: https://teamgantt.docs.apiary.io/#introduction/array-parameters
To setup your tokens, you can go here once logged into your TG account: https://app.teamgantt.com/admin/app-tokens
Remember, this is in beta. So not all documentation is complete. However, it is ready for use. If you have questions or feedback, please email us at support@teamgantt.com.

Hi Nathan, thanks for your response. Do you have a more concrete timing in mind?

Hi Jens,
Yes, we are working on an internal API now and as of now plan to tweak it more and make it public later this year.

Any updates regarding the API?

Echoing Steve with the "it's 2016 [sic]" comment.
If we could access project timelines using an API, we could automate the process of building delivery schedules which currently take us an age in InDesign and are open to human error when manually typing in dates and information etc.

Hey Steve. We are in the early phases of a mobile app. Along with that is likely to be an API :)

Hey Nathan, it's 2015 and you have 411 votes on this ;) any update here? We (and a few other companies I've spoken to) are on the fence about finding another product if we can't get access to our data for integration purposes.. thanks man, I know it's hard to prioritize and we love TG otherwise.

The API is especially important now that there is a time tracking feature in the work...
I love your app so I find myself entering manually time tracked in TeamWork Projects to keep projects information consistent across both TeamWork Projects and TeamGantt.
It can amount to 30 min of manual entries every other day which is both frustrating and unproductive...
I've seen in this thread that there were requests for an API dated back 2012... Please, could you make TeamGantt Zapier-ready in 2016 to ease the lives of your addicted users in the upcoming year?
Thanks for looking into it!

Its sad to think that an open API is not in the Co-Founders primary plans.

PLEASE MAKE THIS INTEGRATION HAPPEN. ESP IF YOU WANT TO INCREASE THE VALUE OF YOUR PRODUCT. DON'T WASTE YOUR CYCLES ON ANY OTHER FEATURE.

I would love this as well. We would like to implement automatic scheduling similar to what liquid planner does. If we could build this as an add-on app for teamgantt we would share the love. Any ETA on an API?

A Gantt chart with an API is the missing piece in our portfolio management toolset. It would really love to see TeamGantt with an API :)

315 Votes means you need to do this feature. In this day and age, no open API is a big shortfall.

Dear Nathan,
do you have any guess whan API can be available? May be you have at least rough feeling. In 3 moths, half of the year or next year. -

Would also love an API to integrate our product with yours. http://specerator.com

I'm just going to throw this out there, I hate how hard it is to resource for me right now in my agency. I've got to take all the current opportunities (Ending Customers, "Wrapping Up" customers, and New Opportunities), stuff them "somewhere" into Omniplan, roll the bones and see if the voodoo gods of timing are good to me, and start telling people their potential starting dates (rolling the dice each time with each new customer as to whether they'll say no or not). Once I get all that locked into place, I then go and update everyone again.
An API with your tools (and btw, I love the possibilities with the hourly distribution feature) would give my entire company the capability to automatically resource. I would treat Team Gantt's view as the "single source of truth" for my company, and build 2 way sync with my CRMs and engineering tools like Pivotal Tracker.
I'm looking right now for web-based resourcing tools for this sole purpose. I am a small agency in Shreveport, Louisiana. I can almost guarantee you, as evidenced by the votes and my qualitative feedback, that people would pay for that feature and I am definitely not the only ones with this real pain today.
To put it in perspective, I just dropped hundreds of dollars on licenses for Omniplan because they have sync and the resource views I want, and a simple XML format that I *might* be able to parse and manipulate.
Finally, my COO is a non-technical person, and forwarded me the e-mail on your features. His next question was if we could integrate this with other tools.
PLEASE DO THIS! TAKE MY MONEY! I'm exhausted from evaluating so many options and yours is the best web interface I've used.
But No API? :'( That's just not a smart decision for my company anymore.

Thanks for the feedback on this everyone! It's still on our radar. Sorry that we don't have any news on this yet. Any other feedback on how you want to use it will help.
