this feature is a most-have.

I'm with Laurence and Steve Trotter on this one. I'm evaluating the product for my group but cannot recommend it because of this. Otherwise, it it excellent!

I'm managing a building project and I need to go down to half day granularity. Without this I can't use your product sorry! Shame because otherwise it looks great.

Definitely need user option to set time granularity. Those who need other time spans at the atomic level of a specific project like hours, minutes, seconds(?), weeks, months, years(?).

Many tasks don't take a full day and when dependencies are set, multiple tasks on the same day look really messy.

In terms of tracking dependencies among things that need to happen on the same day this would be useful. Also just being able to zoom in further and not have all the tasks for a week bunched really close together would be ace.

I don't think it would be useful for a time tracking tool. However, I think a tasks by hour would be more useful for planning estimated time and resource allocation. Basically a way to measure how allocated a resource is based on estimated hours of tasks.

It is a project management tool, not a timesheet. But it could be usefull to let a user to add tasks not planned in the gant view in order to have a trace of "what have really been done".
