Allow the user to set a fixed date for a milestone that will not move

This way I can set a fixed date for a critical milestone and see it turn the dependencies red when the project changes and we may miss this milestone.

    I don't get this. One of the most important reasons for using gantt charts is to make sure you meet the deadline (milestones). How can this software help me if to achieve this if whenever I move a task, my milestone automatically moves to the right of the screen (to eliminate red lines) and without even informing me. Milestone should not move unless I request this...

    This should be merged with another request "Allow a task or milestone to be marked as "locked." so that it doesn't automatically move when other dependent tasks move." and the votes combined.

    It's must have for me!.
    May be in form of 'locking' tasks, or sth, but no move because of dependences.

    I totally agree.
    Additionally it would be great if you could also mark tasks as fixed e.g. if you use a task as a marker for a leave. If you draw dependencies to such as task currently the leave would be moved.

    This is the one critical missing feature, IMO. If we absolutely need our product ready by the May 16 plumber's convention, then that must be a hard stop. We cannot expect the Plumber's convention to change dates simply because we're a little overdue.
