labels instead of resources
Currently I use "resources" as label (e.g. bug, feature) but they look like assignments and show up in the assigned column. They should be displayed separately.

Disagree. If you use resources appropriately, then it's quite handy. I think what you're asking for is a separate column for Keywords (e.g. Asana has this).
