For every task, group, (any object) create a column that indicates priority of the task within a subgroup, group, and up the hierarchy. Could be a numeric priority from 1 - 5.
Add a color code to the task name, and gantt bar to indicate priority - reserve these colors only for use in prioritization.
Enable Views of your Project by seeing Priority from 1 to 5, or only certain priorities (checkboxes).
